Born in Athens, he has writen and directed the following films:
- EURIDICE B.A. 2037 (1975) which received the Best Director, Best Sets & Costumes and the Greek Film Critics Awards at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1975
- THE WRETCHES ARE STILL SINGING (1979) which received the Best Director and the Athens Film Critics Awards at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1979. The film also received awards for Sound, Editing and Acting.
- SWEET BUNCH (1983) which received five awards at the 1983 Thessaloniki Film Festival: Cinematography, Sets and Costumes, Sound, Editing and Acting.
- MORNING PATROL (1987) which received the Best Director's award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1987. Also Best Film, Cinematography and Art Direction Award by the Ministry of Culture.
- SINGAPORE SLING (1990) which received the Best Director's award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1990, also Cinematography and Acting. Awards by the Ministry of Culture for Art Direction and Editing.
- THE GIRL WITH THE SUITCASES (1993) TV film (125') for Antenna TV.
- THE SEVEN BOXES OF PANDORA (1996) Theatrical play by Vassilis Ziogas.
Nikos Nikolaidis is also a writer. He has written and published The Grave-Diggers, The Wretches Are Still Singing, Sweet Bunch, The Angry Balcan, Pigs In The Wind.
He has directed over 500 TV Commercial Spots.
